No Pobre TV. By 1911, Amando Céspedes Marín and Manuel Gómez Miralles became pioneers of Costa Rican cinema. Céspedes was hired by the Variedades Theater and produced one of the first national newsreels, called "El Céspedes Journal," a weekly national news magazine. (8 mm toned).
